American defender Nigel Johnson, who was recently released from the Latvian basketball club “Rīgas Zeļļi”, joined the “Ogres” team, on Friday told “Ogre”.

The basketball player has signed an agreement with “Ogri” until the end of the season, but first he must pass a two-week trial period.

Before that, Johnson joined “Rīgas Zeļļļi” in early October, but did not pass the probationary period, and instead of him, the club attracted the Canadian Aizei Osborne. Johnson played two games in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League (LIBL) for Rīgas Zeļļu, averaging seven points and two assists.

The 25-year-old basketball player did not play last season due to an injury, but before that he represented the Hungarian championship team “Nyiregyhaza”. In 30 games, Johnson averaged 21.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists. In the offseason, the basketball player suffered an injury that prevented him from playing in the 2022/2023 season.

The Ogre players have won three victories in seven games in the LIBL and are ranked tenth in the tournament table.
