Ja’Marr Chase Makes Bengals History with Record-Breaking Performance against Cardinals

Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase had a legendary game against the Arizona Cardinals because he set the mark for most receptions in a game in the history of the Cincinnati Bengals by recording 15 catches, with 192 yards and three touchdowns, in Week 5 of the 2023 NFL season.

The win over the Cards represented the Bengals’ second of the season and the poor start has been part of the problems the offense has had due to the calf injury suffered by quarterback Joe Burrow. The wide receiver is aware of this, but believes that improvement will take place step by step.

“We’ve taken one step closer to who we really are,” Chase said via the team’s website. “We continue to face adversity this year. It will not be an easy season and right now we will continue moving forward step by step until next week.”

In five games, the Bengals offense has only accumulated six touchdowns, enough to rank ninth worst in the entire league. Additionally, Burrow and company have had 70 third downs, but have only converted 24 of them; Seven times they have tried to convert on fourth down, but they were barely able to achieve their goal on two of them.
