Jacksonville Jaguars Defeat Atlanta Falcons 23-7 in London Clash

Bijan Robinson rushed for over 100 yards for the second time this season, but it wasn’t enough to help the Atlanta Falcons defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars, who won 23-7 at Stadium Wembley in London.

Trevor Lawrence completed 23 of 30 passes, good for 207 yards and a touchdown. Christian Kirk was his favorite target, finishing the game with eight receptions and 84 yards through the air. Calvin Ridley caught his second touchdown pass of the season, after having an excellent game in the first week of activity. The former Falcons finished the game with 38 yards on two receptions.

The Jacksonville team was playing a 10th game in London and limited the Falcons in the second half, as they attempted a comeback.

On the Atlanta side, Robinson took the offense on his shoulders, with 137 total yards, 105 on the ground and 32 through the air. Quarterback Desmond Ridder had a game to forget, being intercepted twice by the Jags defense. In total, the Falcons had three turnovers in the game.

Darious Williams got between receiver Drake London and quarterback Ridder, distancing the Falcons players into the end zone to give the Jaguars a 17-0 lead in the second quarter. It was London’s first interception returned for a touchdown since 2016.

After a tough first half, Ridder completed 19 passes in 31 attempts and threw a touchdown pass. The Falcons (2-2) lost their last two outings and Ridder, who was making his eighth NFL start.

After the match, both teams ended up with a 2-2 record. The Jaguars will remain in London as they face the Buffalo Bills next week at Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium. This will be the first time that a team plays two matches in Europe in the same season. For their part, the Falcons will host the Texans in the fifth week of activity.
