Indonesia vs Brunei will be held as the initial round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications. The match will take place over two legs.
In the first leg, Indonesia will be the host first. The match was planned to be played at Gelora Sriwijaya, Palembang, on October 12 2023, but was ultimately moved to Jakarta due to the haze from forest fires.
In leg II, Indonesia alternately visited Brunei. The match took place at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on 17 October 2023.
Faig is one of the members of the Brunei National Team. This member of the Brunei royal family has been pursuing a career as a footballer for a long time. Faiq’s father, Jefri Bolkiah, is estimated to have assets worth IDR 364 trillion.
Born in Los Angeles, United States, Faiq studied at the academy from Leicester City to Chelsea. The nephew of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, is now playing for the Thai club, Ratchaburi FC.
Faiq made his debut in the Brunei National Team on 15 October 2016, in the match against Timor Leste in the AFF Cup qualifiers. Mike Wong Mun Heng is the coach who gave Faiq his debut, Brunei won 2-1 over Timor Leste.
Faiq has collected six caps in the Brunei senior national team. The 25 year old footballer has already contributed one goal.
On Brunei’s last FIFA Matchday, when Hong Kong beat 0-10, Faiq was not included in the squad. As of Thursday (5/10/2023), Brunei had not released the squad to face Indonesia.
With Ratchaburi FC, Faig has played four times this season. He contributed one goal. With his good performance at the club, will Faiq be included in Brunei’s squad against Indonesia?
