Industrial activity in Mexico grew in 16 entities: Quintana Roo showed a greater increase – El Sol de México

During June of this year, Quintana Roo, Puebla, Campeche and Mexico City led the monthly growth in their industrial activity, according to seasonally adjusted data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

According to data from the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity (IMAI), the industrial activity of Quintana Roo showed an increase of 20.9 percent in June compared to last May; the industry of Puebla, 10 percent; Campeche, 5.1 percent; and Mexico City, 4.8 percent.

On the contrary, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa and Zacatecas are the states where their industrial activity showed its greatest monthly contraction in June, with a drop of 7.7, 7.6 and 6.0 percent, in that order. Of the 32 states, 16 reported monthly progress in June.

In the sixth month of 2023, the annual rate and with seasonally adjusted series, the states that presented the most significant increases in their industrial production, in real terms, were: Quintana Roo (231.1 percent); Oaxaca (53.5 percent); Tabasco (18.1 percent) and Puebla (16.1 percent).

With original data and at an annual rate, in June of this year, in generation, transmission, distribution and marketing of electrical energy, supply of water and natural gas through pipelines to the final consumer, the increases stood out in Colima, Campeche, State of Mexico, Quintana Roo and Aguascalientes.

For its part, in the mining sector, the increases reported in Tamaulipas, Tabasco, Baja California and Quintana Roo stood out.

In construction, the most pronounced increases occurred in Quintana Roo, Campeche, Durango and Oaxaca. In manufacturing industries, the highest advances were recorded in Oaxaca, Puebla, Hidalgo, Morelos and Sonora.
