Indonesia finishes 13th at 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games with 7 gold medals

tvOnenews.com – The 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games have been completed along with the completion of the closing ceremony on Sunday (9/10/2023).

Indonesia finished the Asian Games in 13th place in the final standings after winning 7 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 18 bronze medals.

This achievement has indeed decreased from the previous edition at the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games. However, this achievement turned out to be better than when Indonesia did not have host status as in the 2010 and 2014 editions.

Seven gold medals were won in the sports of shooting, wushu, BMX cycling, weight lifting, rock climbing and dragon boating.

Interestingly, there are also records achieved by proud Indonesian athletes. For example, Rahmat Erwin Abdullah who set a world record in the Clean & Jerk event with a lift of 201 kg.

Not to mention Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi from rock climbing who broke the Asian Games record for women’s speed with 6.522 seconds.
