IMSS and SNTSS sign Collective Labor Contract for the 2023-2025 biennium – El Sol de México

The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the National Social Security Labor Union (SNTSS), the largest union body in Section A, with nearly half a million members, signed the Comprehensive Review Agreement of the Collective Labor Contract for the 2023-2025 biennium, with the commitment to continue the growth of the institution for the benefit of the country’s workers.

The general director of the IMSS, Zoé Robledo, said that the IMSS is stronger and safer.

“We have lived through 5 intense years, since the pandemic during which we had the best union for the worst time. The IMSS Union never bargained for anything, when the President made the difficult but historic decision to open the doors to the care of non-beneficiaries,” he expressed.

Robledo celebrated the improvements in working conditions for more than 22 million employees and democracy within the unions.

“We are very pleased to hear the message from the Secretary of Labor now that we have reached the historic figure of 22.16 million formalized workers. In addition, the improvement in the minimum wage, the fight against outsourcing and what democracy means in unions,” he added.

In turn, the general secretary of the National Executive Committee of SNTSS, Dr. Arturo Olivares Cerda, said that it was asserted at the voice and will of the IMSS workers protected by the Collective Labor Contract.

He pointed out that at all times there was openness and willingness to reach agreements and the bilateral work that the Institute and the Union have had for several years bore abundant fruit with 93.14 percent of the votes in favor of the agreements reached in the meeting. contractual review.

The Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare, Marath Bolaños López said that “employers, workers and authorities recover and revitalize the representation of unions, authentic collective bargaining; but above all the participation of the workers and thereby banishing simulation, apathy and the lack of union democracy.”

He then recognized the IMSS authorities and the Union for the effort involved in the review of the CCT by almost half a million workers who knew what was negotiated and what was achieved.

Bolaños López reiterated the support of the Secretariat under his charge to continue the drive to transform the world of work.

On the occasion, the general director of the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration (CFCRL), Alfredo Domínguez Marrufo, pointed out that it is the first time that they have participated in a collective contract review process, which implied an enormous challenge as the union largest Section A in the country.

He spoke about the responsibility of workers and employers to achieve the necessary balances in said negotiation.

He recalled that there were 30,511 collective contracts that passed the legitimation process, which represents 22 percent of the total.

“Now, the Federal Labor Center, thanks to this process in the Mexican Social Security Institute, works to expedite and facilitate the review of collective contracts through the electronic voting system Sirvolab, which could be used in a hybrid manner in these cases.”

This signing took place in the Session Room of the H. Technical Council of the Institute. It was signed by the general director of the IMSS, Zoé Robledo; the general secretary of the CEN of the Union, Dr. Arturo Olivares Cerda.
