Ilana Bouvier Secures Bronze at Judo World Championships

As soon as she entered the fray, Bouvier found the Portuguese Conceiçao who had beaten her earlier in the season. A solid fight which propels the Charentaise ahead of the Japanese Hirano, one of the big favorites of the competition. While Japan crushed its world championships with 9 individual titles in 14 categories, Bouvier achieved the feat of qualifying for the quarter-finals.

She’s having a wonderful day. Her painting was really dense but it confirms its current form.

After a victory against the Cypriot Michaelidou, who had already crossed paths a month ago in The Hague, the LCGAJ judoka found Derks, her pet peeve. “She loses again and logically against the Dutchwoman. As in Europe, there was a match. There, that wasn’t really the case. Ilana was able to find the resources to get the Bronze against the German Buddenkotte. I am very happy for her and for the club which is writing a new page,” welcomes his coach Guillaume Avril.

“She’s having a great dayresumes the latter. Her painting was really dense but it confirms its current form. Rubiano had his medal in Europe, Ilana is on the podium at the Worlds. The season ends in the best possible way for the two Habs. They will now find themselves as seniors with category leaders to dislodge.”

The world medalist will be on the tatamis in Malaga next weekend for a senior European Cup. The opportunity to strike again.
