[This newspaper’s reporting team in Yokote City, Akita Prefecture]The fourth day of the 76th Autumn Tohoku District High School Baseball Tournament was held on the 19th, with four quarterfinal games being played at Green Stadium Yokote in Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, and the first representative from Iwate Prefecture. Ichinoseki Gakuin defeated Shuhide Akita (Akita No. 2) 4-1 and advanced to the final four.
Ichinoseki Gakuin took a three-run lead in the third inning with a double by Ren Yamauchi (second year). In the fourth inning, Seishin Sato (same) added one point with a hit to the center. The main player, Kanata Takazawa (same), pitched a complete game giving up one run.
The 20th is a rest day. On the fifth day, the 21st, two semi-final games will be held at the Akita Prefectural Baseball Stadium (Komachi Stadium) in Akita City, with Ichinoseki Gakuin facing Aomori Yamada (Aomori Daiichi). If they advance to the finals, they will take a big step forward to participate in next spring’s Senbatsu tournament in the general selection (3 schools) in the Tohoku region.
