Hypo NÖ fails in European League qualification

Hypo Niederösterreich was eliminated on Sunday in the second leg of the second qualifying round for the Women’s European League. After the 29:27 home win, the Lower Austrians lost 28:30 in Gothenburg.

Since the away goals rule no longer applies, a seven-meter shootout had to be decided, meaning the second match was lost 34:37 overall. This meant that Hypo NÖ missed out on the hoped-for promotion to the group phase.

As expected, the MGA Fivers also had their final stop in the Women’s European Cup on Sunday. After the 23:37 in the first leg on Madeira, the second leg, also played on the island, was also lost. The Viennese team lost again to Madeira SAD with a difference of 14 goals, 18:32 (14:16).
