Highlights from the Latest Municipal Council Meeting in Illiers-Combray

Several points were on the agenda of the last municipal council of Illiers-Combray, held on September 21.

Deontology. The elected officials of the municipality proceeded, firstly, to the appointment of an ethics officer responsible for providing the elected representative who consults him with any useful advice for respecting ethical principles. Hugues Hourdin was appointed to this title.

Pump track. Work on the pump track has recently resumed and the town will inaugurate it in the coming weeks. Two companies have offered their support for this project: Mountpark and ING2K, each of which is contributing €20,000 to the costs of this project.

Land. On September 15, the municipality signed a promise to purchase in order to acquire the land called “Friche Deloubes”. Decontamination work is planned, and a subsidy request from the Region is being considered.

Soccer. A grant request will be made to the Amateur Football Assistance Fund (FAFA) to provide a soccer field to residents. The cost of the work is estimated at €146,000, including €40,000 financed by the municipality.

Speed. In June 2023, elected officials voted to lower the speed in the city to 30 km/h, except on the main roads of the town, which remained at 50 km/h. It was decided, within the framework of this municipal council, to standardize speed in the city. It will be 30 km/h everywhere in the town, without any exception.

Badminton. Due to an increase in the number of licensees, the UPI Badminton would like to increase from 4 to 6 courts and is requesting a subsidy. A grant of €2,000 was voted unanimously.
