Harry Maguire Proves his Worth Despite Being Ignored by Manchester United

Harry Maguire can still boast even if ignored Manchester United this season.

Initially MU insisted on selling Maguire, but the England national team defender refused to leave Old Trafford.

These conditions mean that Maguire must be the fifth choice center back after Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw.

Being marginalized by coach Erik ten Hag did not discourage Maguire. Maguire provided evidence that he could give MU victory when he started.

This happened when Man Utd won 3-0 over Crystal Palace in the English League Cup and 2-1 victory over Brentford in the Premier League.

Maguire wanted to show Ten Hag that winning record in the press conference ahead of the England vs Australia match.

“Listen, if you look back at my last 15 to 20 appearances for club and country, I would happily sit here and say ‘I’m very happy with my performances’,” said Maguire as quoted by Sky Sports.

“My record under this coach proves it. I haven’t started as much as I would like, but my winning percentage when I play is very high,” added Maguire.

Maguire said he had no other desire than to help Man United win and occupy its proper position in the Premier League standings.

“And of course, there are times when I can do more and there are times when I can improve and help the team, but, yes, I just want to help the team,” said Maguire.

This is the second time Harry Maguire has ‘bragged’ about his neat report card. Previously in April, Maguire admitted that he forgot to lose with MU when he was a starter.
