Harry Kane had a problem. The superstar from Bayern Munich had secured the match ball after his second Bundesliga hat-trick including a dream goal from 60 meters – but what to do with the souvenir?
When asked whether the ball would have a special place at home, Kane said with a laugh: “Well, first of all I have to find a home…” Because the Englishman has been living on the Isar since his move from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer still in the hotel. But Kane added with a smile that there will be “a nice place” there too.
The 30-year-old scored three times (51st/69th/88th) in the 8-0 (0-0) against Darmstadt 98 as he did against Bochum (7-0) and has twelve goals to his name after nine games. His second goal from his own half was particularly nice.
“I always look at where the goalkeepers are,” he said about his long-range shot. “I’ve tried it a few times and been close, but it was the first time it worked.”
Now, Kane added, he is looking forward to his first classic in the Bundesliga next Saturday (6.30 p.m./Sky) in Dortmund. “I watched when I was still in England. This was always a big game, I’m looking forward to it, it’s going to be a tough game in front of a hot crowd. We have to stay calm.”
