Handball: PSG wins against Nantes after a crazy comeback

Ruben Marchan said before the match that it was “the first final of the season” for PSG. And it was won brilliantly and with great character. Despite being in bad shape, the Parisians turned the tide against Nantes and won in front of their home crowd (35-32) this Sunday. This victory allows the capital club to join Montpellier and Nîmes at the top of the Liqui Moly StarLigue, respectively defeating Dijon (33-29) and Saran Loiret (25-22) on Friday.

However, PSG started the match very badly and had difficulty containing Théo Monar, author of nine goals in the first act, and four in the first six minutes of the game. Trailing by six goals at the break (14-19), and seven in the 35th minutes, Raul Gonzalez’s men re-mobilized and managed to find a certain defensive solidity (only eight goals conceded in 22 minutes) in the second act. They were then able to count on a newfound finishing, scoring no less than 21 goals in the second period (21-13). And when Elohim Prandi allowed his team to get back in front on the scoreboard (31-30), the Parisians never let go of their advantage.

Still undefeated in the league, PSG is sure of its range before facing RK Eurofarm Pelister in the Champions League on October 12 at the Pierre de Coubertin stadium (8:45 p.m.).
