Handball: PSG dominates Chambéry and continues its flawless performance in Starligue

Paris Saint-Germain joined Montpellier at the top of the Starligue handball after its victory this Sunday in Chambéry (34-26) in the closing match of the eighth day. The capital club, which led by five goals at the break (17-12), delivered a serious performance. The gap continued to increase as the match progressed, until it peaked at +9 (32-23). The Parisians then had no trouble managing the end of the match to confirm this eighth victory in a row.

As is often the case, Kamil Syprzak was omnipresent. The Pole also finished the match as top scorer with ten goals. David Balaguer and Elohim Prandi follow with seven and five goals respectively. The Parisian goalkeeper, Andreas Palicka, also actively participated in this victory by stopping ten shots from the Chambéry players, or 34% of their attempts. His replacement, Jannick Green, was not unworthy either, with five saves out of 12 attempts.

This victory allows Paris Saint-Germain to maintain the lead in the championship. The day before, Montpellier won against Saran (34-28) to provisionally take sole lead in the ranking. The two teams remain undefeated and each have 16 points, but the Parisians benefit from a better goal difference (+64 against +49). For its part, Chambéry fell from 9th to 11th place in the ranking, before the international break.

The players will now join their national teams. For the Blues, a friendly match against Romania is on the program, next Saturday November 4 in Toulouse.
