Kay Weingärtner (55) from Langenselbold near Frankfurt: “I just think it’s great that the city has two clubs at the top. There are a lot of HSV fans in our area. But the better one should be on top. And it’s great for the city. If both were in the Bundesliga, that would be something.”

Henning Plate (51) from Eppendorf: “My heart has beaten for HSV since 1977. But I even have a season ticket for St. Pauli because I think the atmosphere is good. When they were in separate leagues, I still went, but now only to the games against HSV. I would be happy if both of them promoted. But it would be the worst thing for me if Pauli got promoted and we didn’t. However, they are the best team in the league at the moment and they play good football.”
