GXO Logistics, a company dedicated exclusively to logistics contracts, has announced the appointment of Ignacio de Lomas as GXO’s new Business Development Director in Spain and Portugal. He will be part of the management committee under the orders of Rafael Gutiérrez de Mesa, General Director of GXO in Spain and Portugal, according to a press release.

Ignacio de Lomas has more than 20 years of experience in top-level companies in the logistics sector, such as DHL, and has held leadership positions in sales, consulting, solution development and project management. His most recent positions include Director of Strategy and Business Development and Commercial Director of El Corte Inglés, a leading company in the retail sector. Ignacio is an Industrial Engineer from the University of Navarra and an MBA from ESIC Business & Marketing School.
GXO in Spain
GXO has had a strong presence in Spain for more than a decade and has almost 50 distribution centers in Spain and Portugal, where it manages logistics for clients in various sectors, including e-commerce and retail, food and beverage, automotive and technology. In Guadalajara, GXO operates the largest facility in the sector in Europe, with almost 200,000 square meters.
In 2022, GXO hired more than 2,100 people in Spain, bringing the company’s total number of employees in the country to more than 8,500 workers, thus responding to the company’s rapid growth.
