Gwendal Deverchere: Rising Star of the Chablis Judo Club Achieves Black Belt

The Chablis Judo Club has a new black belt: Gwendal Deverchere. After his big brother Loïc, he became one of the new judo executives by wearing this belt which bears his name.

Gwendal Deverchere started playing tatami at 4 years old. The young man continued his progression, reaching all the ranks over the years up to this famous black belt.

“Motivation and rigor”

“Gwendal is our example in Chablis. It proves that with motivation and rigor, our youngest members can hope to one day achieve this objective, declared Professor Sylvain Jacquinot. From 2006 to 2018, he was licensed at Chablis before training at Champagnole in Jura, a competition-oriented club. His professional activity as a wine mechanic led him to return to us in 2021, where he works in the teen-adult course. »

Sylvain Jacquinot specifies that this age category, which has around twenty practitioners aged 13 to 69, trains every Monday and Thursday at the dojo of the Pierre and Jean Lerouge college. The club also offers taïso (gentle gym) classes on Wednesdays from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., under the leadership of Christine Legrand.
