Golf, LPGA Minjee Lee leader of the BMW Ladies Championship, Boutier reste 9e

This Friday, Minjee Lee took the lead at the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea. The leader from the day before, Ashleigh Buhai, is tied for 2nd with Alison Lee. Céline Boutier remains in the top 10.

Playing conditions were very difficult this Friday at Seowon Valley Country Club, South Korea. The capricious wind influenced the scores, as evidenced by the lowest cards at 68 (-4), and the only 8 players out of 60 less than 70. This did not prevent the Australian Minjee Lee from grabbing the reins of the tournament by signing a card of 69 (-3) for a -11 total. After a solid first round at -8 and a tied third place, the world No. 7 conceded a bogey at 5 and 4 birdies on the rest of the course. She had an ideal end to the second round with a good putt at 18. “I waited for a gust of wind to pass,” she explained. And actually, it was a pretty straight putt. So I didn’t have to look too far, but just putted when it was straight downwind. I think it helped me. »

The 27-year-old is delighted with her result and hopes to remain consistent this weekend: “I played very solid. The conditions were really difficult. It was very windy in the valley. Sometimes we had very strong gusts and I had to back up. But overall, I had a very good journey. My motto is to always play my game and do everything I can control. So I’m going to play one move at a time. And if the wind blows again like today, I think it’s really, really important. So I’m going to go out on the course and try to have as much fun as possible. »
