The 2014 world champion without a contract is currently auditioning for a new contract with Bayern on Säbener Straße.

How good is the new Bayern documentary?

An absolute must for Bayern fans! The years before the Henkelpott victory in 2013 are told emotionally, almost everyone involved talks about the big victories and also the big bankruptcies beforehand, such as the “final at home” in 2012.

Big opponents like José Mourinho (60) or Barcça coach Xavi (43) also have their say. Spectators experience the big games up close again, the stars from back then talk about the triumphs and tears.

There are also many interesting insights for non-Bayern fans!

It starts with the bitter Klinsi year: The ex-coach explains again that the Buddhas on the roof of the training ground were not his idea: “I never had anything to do with the Buddhas. That was the architect’s idea, I was just as surprised as the players.”

The 2011/12 season is about the years of upheaval with van Gaal: the bitter defeats against Dortmund – and of course the big “final at home” against Chelsea. Their goalkeeper at the time, Peter Czech (41), reveals that he knew where Schweini was shooting when Bastian Schweinsteiger took the decisive penalty: “We already analyzed what he was doing in a game against Basel in 2007, how he was shooting, that he was interrupting his run-up. And when he did it again, I thought to myself: Thank you very much!” Czech held, and the drama continued.

Mario Gomez (38) says that the next day there was an Aperol Spritz drinking session in the English Garden with some of the players. At some point, Gomez & Co gave everyone present a round of spritzes and finally everyone shouted in unison: “Forget!”

Also exciting: The beating between Franck Ribéry (40) and Arjen Robben during half-time in the semi-final against Real Madrid!

The Frenchman had beaten the Dutchman. The day after, both had to go to the bosses Hoeneß and Rummenigge’s office. Hoeneß tells what happened when Ribéry had actually already apologized and was out of the room: “When Ribéry was out, Robben said: ‘One thing is clear: I’ll never play in a team with him again.’ I then said: ‘You’ll stay here until you take back the sentence…'”

The initial spark for the 2013 victory also came one day after the lost 2012 final. Thomas Müller (34) wrote a text message to the group: “That wasn’t it for us!”

Robben explained the spirit afterwards at the premiere: “What I remember is not the 2012 final, but the first day after in the new season. Then you felt: Now we’re really getting started. We worked like never before. We played a very special season there. In the end we were rewarded in London. It was incredible for me to be part of such a group.”

Boss Dreesen: “It was like a rush until the final. We just won, a rush of emotions.”

Documentary director Dominik Beyer (together with Bianca Preysing) is proud of the series: “What makes the documentary so special: We felt every emotion in the documentary ourselves back then. We didn’t just want to retell it, we wanted to explain it.”

That was a success – Bayern fans will have a lot of tears in their eyes when they see the pictures. But in the end, above all, tears of joy…
