The former football player was deported from Mexico on Tuesday and is being held near San Diego in connection with an arrest warrant issued for him in Illinois. He is charged with the first degree murder of Myrdle Brown. The woman’s body was found lifeless in a creek near her home in the Chicago suburbs. She died from assault-related injuries, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Brown played as a defensive back from 2010 to 2016 in the NFL. The one who wore the colors of the New England Patriots, the Indianapolis Colts, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills played a total of 94 games.
