Former Formula 1 boss Ecclestone pleaded guilty to tax fraud

According to prosecutors, Ecclestone admitted to only one trust in Singapore in 2015, which was held in his daughter’s name. He told the tax authorities that he had no other trusts outside the UK. He now stated that he was not clear on how the ownership of the relevant accounts was structured.

Ecclestone has been at the helm of F1 since the 1970s and managed it until 2017. He subsequently resigned as CEO and the American company Liberty Media became the majority owner of the rights.
