Florentino Pérez will sue Villarejo for accusing him of bribing the referees

Florentino Pérez will take legal action against José Manuel Villarejo after the controversial statements in which the former commissioner of the National Police Corps denounced that “the president of Real Madrid bribed the referees before the ‘Negreira case'”, but added that nothing happened because The top white leader is “untouchable.”

In a brief official statement published this afternoon, the Madrid entity states that Florentino Pérez “has ordered the immediate presentation of the corresponding judicial action against former commissioner Villarejo for the false accusations on the Catalan radio station RAC1.”

It so happens that some of Villarejo’s explosive demonstrations found endorsement shortly after through Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga. He did not share the first part of his statements, in which Villarejo alluded to the bribery of some referees, demanding that he present evidence. But Tebas does agree with statements regarding the ‘inviolability’ of Florentino Pérez by pointing out that “this is ‘vox populi’, an objective fact.”

«Villarejo has said two things, that Florentino had bribed referees and he says that he is also untouchable. First of all, if he has something, let him show it. Villarejo talks a lot, he has a mind and Villarejo’s tactics that we have known to denounce things are incredible, very condemnable. That’s why I often talk about ‘Villarjo-style journalists’, you invent a story, publish it and then take it to court,” denounced the head of LaLiga. “He will have to get more,” he added.

However, Tebas shares Villarejo’s theory about protecting the senior white leader. «I believe the second part, which says that Florentino is untouchable and that Rubalcaba had told him so, because it is not that Villarejo says it, it is a ‘vox populi’ thing in this country. Everyone knows it, it is objective data. Rubalcaba was Minister of the Interior, he was a very good friend of Florentino and everything fits me.

Villarejo, interviewed by Jordi Basté in El Món on RAC1 along with other figures such as Artur Mas or Pablo Iglesias, has pointed out that “all presidents have done it”, but that “it is impossible to prosecute anything that has to do with the president of Real Madrid”. «Whoever dares to do it would be a suicide. “Florentino is untouchable,” he said.

Defending Sandro Rosell

In reference to Barça, Villarejo maintains that what they did to former president Sandro Rosell, who spent two years in preventive detention before being acquitted of all the charges against him for money laundering and criminal organization, “was tremendous.” And he points out that Judge Carmen Lamela, the investigator of the case, “was deceived.”

As Villarejo revealed in the interview with the Catalan station, it was “people around” Joan Laporta who gave “the information about Sandro Rosell”, which led to his imprisonment for 22 months. The Barça club considers that this information is “totally false” and Laporta, like Florentino Pérez, will take legal action against the former commissioner.
