Felix Auger-Aliassime Shines in Tennis Comeback, Holger Rune Misses First Final

As soon as you go into the hall, Felix Auger-Aliassime is playing great tennis again!

Boris Becker’s protégé Holger Rune also felt this, as he missed his first final under his new coach.

At the ATP tournament in Basel, the top-seeded 20-year-old Dane lost his semi-final match 3:6, 2:6 against the strong Canadian in front of his German mentor. He is now reaching for his first tournament victory after a weak season so far.

In the final, Auger-Aliassime, number six on the seed list in Switzerland, will face Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz (No. 4). Hurkacz had previously defeated Ugo Humbert from France 6:4, 3:6, 7:6 (7:5) in the much more exciting first semi-final.

Shortly before the tournament, Becker announced his comeback to the coaching business last week.

As coach of Grand Slam record champion Novak Djokovic (36), he celebrated numerous successes between 2013 and 2016, and now he wants to lead his new protégé Rune out of his form crisis.
