The fake quotes were spread by an English-language Bayern fan account on X. SPORT1 also picked up on the statements before they turned out to be fake.
The 60-year-old Mourinho has been Roma’s coach since 2021. After an unsuccessful start to the season, his team recently worked its way up the Serie A table.
Mourinho is one of the most successful European coaches in history. The Portuguese was named World Club Coach of the Year four times and was the only coach to triumph in the Champions League, the UEFA Cup (now the Europa League) and the Conference League and thus all three current European competitions.
