Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto managed to enter the semifinals of the Denmark Open 2023 after defeating Korean representatives Jin Yong/Na Sung Seung, Friday (20/10).
Competing at the Jyske Bank Arena, Fajar/Rian, who were the first seeds, were able to appear dominant. Indonesian men’s doubles were five points ahead at the start of the first game.
Having encountered quite fierce resistance, Fajar/Rian were able to lead 11-7 in the interval. Fajar/Rian’s dominance was unstoppable until the end of the first game, closing with a 21-15 lead.
Fajar/Rian tried to repeat their impressive game in the second game, but they faced stiffer resistance from Jin/Na Sung.
However, Fajar/Rian was still too tough for Jin Yong/Na Sung Seung. Indonesia’s number one men’s doubles team successfully closed out a 21-14 victory at the end of the second game.
This result ensures that Fajar/Rian qualify for the semifinals of the Denmark Open 2023. Fajar/Rian has the opportunity to meet compatriots Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana in the semifinals.
All Indonesian Semifinals will occur if Fikri/Bagas succeed in defeating Taiwanese representatives Lee Jhe Huei/Yang P Hsuan in the quarterfinals.
