Failed to play in the U-17 World Cup, Chow Yun’s naturalization process continues

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Member of the Executive Committee (Exco) PSSI Arya Sinulingga ensures the naturalization process Chow Yun Damanik will continue even though it is certain that the player will not be able to play for the Indonesian U-17 National Team at the 2023 U-17 World Cup because of a passport problem.

“The naturalization process will be carried out. This is a good player, so it can be used for the future. That’s the document [dari orang tua Chow] Yes, we will process it,” said Arya to CNN Indonesia, Monday (30/10).

It is certain that Chow will not be able to defend Indonesia U-17 2023 because his mother’s documents are incomplete. Without this document, Chow’s naturalization process cannot be processed.

The document in question is proof of the release of the mother’s Indonesian passport, who is now a Swiss citizen. Arya explained that when Chow was born, data at Indonesian Immigration showed that his mother’s passport had expired.

Until now, PSSI has not received data on when Chow’s mother married and gave up her Indonesian citizenship status. This document is said to be the key to the naturalization process.

Arya also denied that PSSI missed out because Chow had already undergone a trial and his performance was successful in tempting Bima Sakti. This player, who was born on August 24 2007, took part in the Indonesia U-17 training camp while training in Germany.

When brought in for a trial with the U-17 Indonesian National Team, PSSI immediately asked for the required documents. Unfortunately, until the final minutes of collection, the requested documents were not provided.

“If you wait, everyone [dokumen] After completing the trial, we won’t meet the best Indonesian players. “If you can’t do it now, you can do it later,” explained Arya.

With Chow removed, there are now two diaspora players left in the Garuda Asia squad, nicknamed Indonesia U-17. The two players in question are Welber Halim Jardim and Amar Brkic.

These two players will most likely be included in the 21 Indonesian U-17 National Team players for the 2023 U-17 World Cup which PSSI will soon announce.
