Exciting NBA Night: Highlights from Weekend Games featuring Jokic, Curry, Antetokounmpo, and More

The weekend closed with an attractive NBA night. Six games enlivened the night, in which we enjoyed some of the most important figures, such as Nikola Jokic, Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama, among others. We tell you the highlights of each of these duels.

Oklahoma City Thunder Vs. Denver Nuggets

Very interesting duel between the last champions and one of the most interesting young nuclei to follow in 23/24. Obviously the Nuggets’ class showed them that they still have a lot to improve. Escorted behind Nikola Jokic, they took the victory with a resounding 128 to 95. With this result, they reached their third celebration in a row, being one of the best at the start of the competition.

The Serbian intern finished with double double figures; him completing his scoresheet with 28 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Michael Porter Jr. followed him with 20 points, while Jamal Murray contributed 19 points and 8 assists. In Oklahoma the scoring was distributed; where only two players did not add. The best came from Chet Holmgren, Rookie of the Year candidate, with 19 points and 7/12 shooting from the field.

Houston Rockets Vs. Golden State Warriors

Western conference matchup. Beyond a positive start for the home team, the superiority of individual talent from San Francisco was much more. Those led by Steve Kerr led by 16 before the Rockets began to reduce the lead and went up by 2 with a basket by Jalen Green. There Steph took control, with four triples in less than two minutes for a 15-2 run that gave Golden State a 100-89 lead.

The good news, in addition to the victory, for the Warriors was the debut of Draymond Green, who added 20 minutes on the court. Curry was the leading scorer with 24 points, in addition to 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Klay Thompson followed him with 19 points; while Gary Payton completed the most important offensive trident with 15. For the Rockets, the standout was Jalen Green, with 21 points and 9 rebounds.

Milwaukee Bucks Vs. Atlanta Hawks

THE surprise of the night in the NBA. The Hawks achieved their first victory of the season, after two losses in a row. And they did it, nothing more and nothing less, than with a beating of the Milwaukee Bucks, top candidates to win the Eastern Conference championship. With a shared goal, the Falcons dominated the scoreboard during the 48 minutes, causing the first fall of the season for the Bucks, where Lillard could only add 6 points.

Trae Young finished as the leading scorer with 20 points and 11 assists on his personal scoresheet. Bogdan Bogdanovic followed him with 17 points. There was also a double double for Clint Capela, who finished with 12 points and the same number of rebounds in 23 minutes on the court. A brilliant team game, where the 32 assists stood out (10 more than their rival). In the Bucks, Giannis stood out over his teammates, with 26 points.

Philadelphia 76ers Vs. Portland Trail Blazers

Crushing victory for the Philadelphia 76ers, who gave no opportunities to the Portland Trail Blazers, who accumulated their third consecutive loss. Even without James Harden, who is expected to join the team soon, the Sixers showed offensive solidity that allowed them to escape on the scoreboard as the minutes passed. Beyond a slump in the second quarter, the passing of the match was all in favor of those led by Nick Nurse.

Five players ended up scoring in double figures. Joel Embiid finished as the team’s top scorer with 35 points and 15 rebounds. Tyrese Maxey followed him with 26 points and 10 boards. Tobias Harris completed the offensive trident with 24 points. Shaedon Sharpe, with 20, was Portland’s best.

Los Angeles Clippers Vs. San Antonio Spurs

Happiness did not last long for the San Antonio Spurs after their first victory. The Clippers gave the Texas team a real blow, and they surpassed them with great authority, with a resounding 123 to 83. With seven players in double digits, the dynamic rhythm of the Clippers was too much for the Spurs that did not have Wembanyama in its maximum form. With this result, the Angelenos reach a 2-1 record; while the Spurs reach 1-2.

Kawhi Leonard scored 21 points, while Paul George added 19 points. Russell Westbrook, Bones Hyland Ivica Zubac were others who scored in double figures. Wembanyama was held to 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and one block. He committed five of the Spurs’ 25 turnovers, the worst of the season.

Sacramento Kings Vs. Los Angeles Lakers

The best NBA game of the night. The Kings needed five extra minutes to beat the Los Angeles Lakers and achieve their first home victory. Malik Monk scored 11 of his 22 points in overtime and set up Kevin Huerter for a key 3-pointer with 32 seconds left, and the Sacramento Kings ruined the 20th anniversary of LeBron James’ NBA debut in the same City with a 1-0 win. 132-127 over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.

De’Aaron Fox had 37 points and eight assists for the Kings, scoring eight points in the final six minutes of regulation after returning from an ankle injury early in the fourth quarter. Domantas Sabonis added 12 points and 15 rebounds before fouling out.
