The Embrunais Badminton Club was created in 2003, so twenty years ago this year. It is chaired by Olivier Blanc. The club will experience a special season with this anniversary, culminating in the weekend of April 6 and 7 for the 10th Embrun bad tournament open at the national level.
The club benefits from the facilities of the school campus gymnasium for certain training sessions and the lake gymnasium for training sessions and competitions. The numbers of men and women players are increasing again. The club welcomes them in youth sections from 6 years old to 17 years old, in baby bad, mini bad, U9, U11, U15, U17 categories. There are currently 36 of them, all youth sections combined. As adults, 18 years and over, there are currently around twenty.
“We are experiencing great growth at the start of the season with high demand compared to last year,” rejoices Olivier Blanc. We have a very good renewal of licenses, young people have been present for several years. At the start of the season we have a little more than 50 memberships, children and adults, our objective is to reach 90 licensees and why not exceed a hundred. There, it’s off to a very good start and promising. The club obtained a star for youth training. We have players who will participate in the first tournaments in Pertuis, Grenoble and Carpentras in the coming weeks. The adults play in the departmental, some in the regional, we do not have a player classified nationally. »
The young people are aiming for the first stage of the departmental youth championship (CDJ) on October 15. The club will host a stage of the CDJ on April 28 at the lake gymnasium.
In the same way, adults play in the departmental adult circuit and the club will host a stage on January 21. The BCE also has two important trips planned to Martigues and Valence, the wish is to take as many players as possible.
