Dynamic Archery Course Offered by OPES National Outdoor Sector

Dynamic archery enthusiasts won’t be able to miss the course promoted by national outdoor sector of OPES which will start next October 14th. The activity will last 20 hours (8 two-hour lessons – during weekends plus four hours of tests) and will take place at the shooting range of the OPES outdoor center in Rocca Priora. It is anticipated that those responsible for the training are OPES-CONI certified instructors and that they are highly qualified. The organization also informs that a 10% discount will be applied to couples, parents and children, couples of friends and associations.

Teaching system and course program

The approach to the subject, i.e. the teaching system that will be used during the course, is that of personal construction. The work, therefore, is aimed at providing essential initial knowledge of the bow/arrow system and the application and verification of the students’ posture and gesture. Objective feedback on the archer’s psycho-physical condition is also offered by carrying out tests both at the beginning and at the end of the course.

As for the program, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about theory:

– presentation and introduction to dynamic archery;
– historical notions;
– the figure of the Mediterranean archer – philosophy and psycho-physical structure;
– the archer’s paradox;
– ballistics elements of the bow/arrow system.

As far as practice is concerned, the following has been foreseen:

– acquisition of basic techniques;
postural elements and breathing techniques;
– dominance and visual perception tests;
– shooting tests in line with the 4 Arkan philosophy;
– perception tests on skeletal alignment, balance and traction;
– shooting tests in dynamic situations with practical verification of the difficulties encountered;
– standing and kneeling shooting at a fixed target;
– shooting on a mobile template;
debate and final explanations.
