This Monday, October 30, 2023, Diego Armando Maradona would have turned 63 if it had not been for his sad death that occurred in November 2020. However, around this very important date – long celebrated by all the fans in the world on the networks – an event was organized in which a memorial was inaugurated, where the remains of the Argentine idol will soon rest.

Four of the five children of Diez were part of it: Dalma, Gianinna, Jana and Dieguito Fernando, they met again there and were captured by the cameras in a very emotional image. Diego’s descendants announced the start of the M10 Memorial project, which will be ready in 2025. The Maradona Foundation and the Puerto Madero Corporation agreed with Maradona’s children and then went to the Esplanade del Bajo of the City of Buenos Aires, place in which the star can be visited by those who want to pay tribute to it.

Some photos of the ceremony and also the details of what the memorial will be like were shared by Verónica Ojeda on her Instagram account, who was also present and was very excited about what happened. In addition, the event was set to music by Juanse Gutiérrez, who acoustically sang the song “Para siempre Diego”, which he recorded in 2001 with Ratones Paranoicos.

We will always miss you because it was always before and after you, Diego,” Juanse wrote on his Instagram account when sharing the video with the song. “We will be loyal and you will forever be in our hearts giving us the best, feeling that being Argentine is worth it, just for everything you did to bring joy and unity to an entire town,” the musician closed.

“Today we want to announce the beginning of the Memorial project where our father will find eternal rest close to the love of the Argentine people. The M10 Memorial will be located on the Lower Esplanade of the City of Buenos Aires and will complete its construction in 2025,” says the M10 Memorial statement, which was signed by the five children of Diez – including Diego Armando Maradona Sinagra – and was shared on the project’s official Instagram account.

“To honor his legacy and fulfill his will, this afternoon we participated in the signing of the corresponding commitments and a tribute to begin this new stage. We thank the National Government, the City Government and the Puerto Madero Corporation for their collaboration and commitment. In every mural, tattoo, song and tribute, our father is present. Thanks to the Maradona community for the always love,” they expressed.

On this special day, Lionel Messi took a moment to make a very special dedication to Diego on the day he won his eighth Ballon d’Or, in a ceremony held in Paris, France. “Finally I want to mention Diego. Today is his birthday. I think there is no better place than to do it in a place surrounded by players, former players, coaches, people who like football. Wherever you are, happy birthday Diego. I also share this with you and with all of Argentina,” expressed the current number 10 of the Argentine team in the most emotional moment of his award speech.
