Although the Dutchman has already stated in the past that he is not a fan of the concept at all. And so the question arises: will he take a day off on Saturday or will he celebrate his third title?

Or not. The FIA still declared him champion and awarded the full 25 points. “I didn’t understand anything. I was completely confused,” Verstappen looked confused after a crashed party.

Sprint party or day off?
Although the Red Bull phenomenon faces a choice: does he want to write F1 history and celebrate a world title for the first time after a sprint race? Or does he not grant that to the calendar makers?
Max Verstappen never concealed his distaste for the format.
“Just scrap the whole concept,” he said after Formula 1 changed the weekend structure again. He did not like the sprint shootout, or qualifying for the sprint race on Saturday.
“It only creates artificial excitement,” Verstappen sighed. “To be honest, I was bored during the shootout in Azerbaijan. I’m like, ‘my god,’ another qualification? It’s just not fun anymore.”

Like it or not. The chance that Verstappen will become world champion on Saturday is very likely.
Is a day off to shine on Sunday? “It’s not a real downer for me to win my third world title on Saturday,” “Super Max” reassures his fans at NOS.
“Then we can party all weekend instead of just Sunday evening. I have no problem with that.”
And so the opposition has been warned. “The F1 management simply wants more action on the track…” he concludes with a wink. He seems to give in to the showbiz quality in the premier class of motorsport.
