The player himself is aware of his limitations on this side of the court, so he is working to modify this tendency so as not to represent a weakness for his team.

Interestingly, Russell cited Derrick White as a role model. The Lakers guard praised his Celtics namesake for making “all those winning decisions on the court,” even if he doesn’t necessarily take credit for them. Thus, Russell acknowledged that he would like to become a profile similar to White.
