According to Gunsan City, the Wolmyeong Lake barrier-free sharing path construction project is being promoted in earnest to ensure safe and convenient use of Wolmyeong Lake.
This project was selected in the 2023 Green Fund Support Project contest and will create a barrier-free sharing path for approximately 2.1km from the youth training center to the cypress forest behind the badminton court with a total project cost of 1.6 billion won.

We plan to construct a slope of less than 8% so that wheelchairs, strollers, etc. can travel without difficulty, and install safety and convenience facilities that take into account the characteristics of users so that anyone, including those with transportation disabilities, can enjoy forest welfare benefits without discrimination.
In certain areas, a hackberry plaza, an observatory deck, and a cypress healing rest area will be created to provide convenience to citizens. The forest path will be raised above the full water level of Wolmyeong Lake to prepare for heavy rain damage and safety accidents, and minimize damage to trees.
Once this project is completed, the Wolmyeong Lake Circular Trail will be completed by connecting to the existing barrier-free sharing path created in 2016, and it is expected that people with walking disabilities will be able to use the Wolmyeong Lake path more easily.
