The shipwreck ended for Chivas. A crisis on and off the field haunted the Guadalajara team for weeks, but at the height of the chaos they reemerged with a double from Ricardo Marín to regain victory after six games in the classic Guadalajara game by beating Atlas 4-1. .

The victory could be the turning point for Guadalajara, which despite controversies and sporting disagreements reached 18 points with the possibility of jumping to the top positions.

Pride and confidence were at stake. Aware of the speculation of a possible departure to sign with Almería, Velkjo Paunovic, helmsman of the red and whites, decided to silence the rumors with a forceful phrase for the TUDN network: As long as I am here, I want to be here for a long time, I will Give it your all, here I am.

The glory that surrounds Chivas players is sometimes equivalent to a lack of commitment. Alexis Vega and Cristian Calderón were repeat offenders in acts of discipline, along with the youth Raúl Martínez, which cost them to be separated from the team. Not only that, the controversy came just when the team is going downhill in sports.

Now, Guadalajara had to go out to the Akron stadium to play for much more than winning a classic. Despite the crisis of the squad, the fans supported them with a caravan, they only asked for delivery on the field.

If goals and victory had been denied to Chivas, they now opened the game with an early goal. Isaac Brizuela broke the rival defense to filter a pass to Fernando Beltrán (8), who sentenced from the half moon.

With the euphoria at its peak, Beltrán ran to celebrate in front of the fans, while pointing to the team’s shield, it was a clear message that they would stand up for the team. However, they faced an unforeseen event, as goalkeeper José Rangel left the game due to a blow to the head and was replaced by Miguel Jiménez, who had precisely lost the starting position.

Not only that, the rojiblancos retreated on the field and Atlas equalized with a great goal from Aldo Rocha (43) from outside the area.

At that moment, intense rain was already hitting the venue, it was like a symbolic test for Guadalajara. If there was a storm outside the field, he had to face another one on the field.

With the score tied and facing an Atlas that did not back down, Chivas resorted to long-distance attacks until a genius from Ricardo Marín was the guide for the team. The young striker received a cross and without hesitation connected with a header to send the ball into the net. Then, in the 87th minute, he scored his second goal in a solo play against an Atlas that lost clarity in defense; Shortly after, Roberto Alvarado (90+2) closed the duel with a penalty. The goal confirmed the resurgence of the rojiblancos, not only on the field but also in a bond of trust with their fans, who roared for the victory.

Earlier, Rogelio Funes Mori scored a double and the Rayados beat Bravos 3-1 at home to move closer to the first places in the general table with 17 points.

Maximiliano Meza opened the scoring (5) via penalty and then came Funes Mori’s goals (26 and 45), while Avilés Hurtado (51) scored for the visitors.

In Pachuca, the Tuzos rescued a 1-1 draw against Tigres, who could not close the gap in their efforts to fight for the lead. Andre-Pierre Gignac (8) gave the cats the lead with a penalty, but Bryan González (20) tied it with a long-distance shot.
