Champions League Onana saves ManUnited – Real remains unbeaten

Manchester United gets their first win in the third game of the Champions League. Real Madrid remains unbeaten. Arsenal FC is back.

André Onana saved Manchester United’s first win in the Champions League with a spectacular save in the seventh minute of stoppage time. The goalkeeper from Cameroon saved a penalty from Jordan Larsson against FC Copenhagen and thus saved the 1-0 (0-0) for the Red Devils.

Defender Harry Maguire (72nd) gave the English, who paid tribute to their legendary player Bobby Charlton before the game, the lead with his header. With the win, Man United moved up to third place with three points in Group A, which Bayern Munich comfortably leads with nine points after their 3-1 win at Galatasaray Istanbul. Istanbul (4) is second, Copenhagen (1) bottom.

Real wins in Braga, Arsenal back on track

Real Madrid is circling in Group C. The Royals also won their third game and are still unbeaten. At SC Braga it was 2:1 (1:0). The goals were scored by Rodrygo (16th minute) and Jude Belingham (61st). Alvaro Djalo (63′) managed to connect. The Madrilenians lead the group with nine points ahead of SSC Napoli (6), who won 1-0 at Union Berlin.

Arsenal FC has recovered from the unexpected defeat on the last matchday and is back on track. The Gunners won 2-1 (1-0) at Sevilla FC. Gabriel Martinelli in stoppage time in the first half (45th +4) and Gabriel Jesus (53rd) scored for the guests, Nemanja Gudelj (58th) for Sevilla. The second encounter in Group B between RC Lens and PSV Eindhoven ended 1-1 (0-0). Johan Bakayoko (55th) for the Dutch and Elye Wahi (65th) scored the goals. Arsenal now lead the group with six points ahead of Lens (5). Sevilla and Eindhoven each have two points.

Benfica Lisbon remains pointless and winless. The Portuguese lost 0-1 (0-0) against Real Sociedad San Sebastian. Brais Mendez (63rd) scored the only goal of the evening. Thanks to their success, the Basques are leading Group D by seven points ahead of the Inter Milan team with the same number of points, which had defeated RB Salzburg 2-1 (1-0) in the early game. Salzburg is third (3).
