Camila Vallejo Leads Torch Relay for Pan American Games in Chile

The sports call was headed by the Minister General Secretary of the Government, Camila Vallejo, who visited the town of Cerro Toro last Monday where the journey from the southernmost area of ​​the country to the north began.

In the regional capital, the torch traveled from the EpAustral offices to the Costanera del Estrecho, to culminate next to the volumetric letters with a cultural show by Selknam groups.

The person who led the journey was the judoka Tomás Bringas, who commented on his experience, pointing out that “it was a super nice moment to have started this event, and more than anything, it is a motivation for the athletes who are representing us in these Games,” he stated. .

“Thousands of students were in the streets accompanying, observing the torch as spectators, walking, running in some sections. This is a historic (Pan American) event of an international nature, it has been felt in the educational communities and this helps to be able to promote everything related to school physical activity,” said the Minister of Education, Valentín Aguilera.

The Seremi of Sports, Alejandro Olate, highlighted the Magellanic athletes who will be present at the sporting event, such as: Jorge Pérez in judo; Carlos Lauler in 3×3 basketball and Miriam Pérez in Para athletics at the Parapan American Games.
