Borussia Dortmund: BVB pardons suspended talented striker

It’s been around two weeks since Borussia Dortmund caused a stir by suspending a young player. Paris Brunner, a talented striker from the Bundesliga club’s second team, was released from training and games.

Brunner is now returning to training and games. The Bundesliga club confirmed this when asked by “Bild”. This ends the disciplinary measure for the 17-year-old. It is said to be the result of a secret meeting between BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl, youth boss Lars Ricken, Brunner and his parents.

The Bundesliga club did not provide any information about the reasons for the almost two-week suspension, citing the player’s young age. Coach Edin Terzic spoke of “an incident”.

Apparently taking part in the U17 World Cup

At the end of August, Brunner was awarded the Fritz Walter Gold Medal by the German Football Association (DFB) as the best young player of the 2006 class. He is considered a potential candidate to make the jump to the professional team. The Dortmund U19 goalscorer is expected to be in the Germany U17 squad for the World Cup in Indonesia, which is due to be named on Wednesday.
