Bongi Mbonambi goes out injured in the 3rd minute of the World Cup final

Disaster scenario for South Africa. She, who plays with only one real professional hooker in her group since Malcolm Marx’s withdrawal on September 14, lost her second hooker this Saturday evening, in the 3rd minute of the World Cup final, against the Nouvelle -Zealand.

Bongi Mbonambi had to leave the pitch at the start of the match, suffering a twisted knee after New Zealand flanker Shannon Frizell fell on him in a ruck, a fault for which he was punished with a yellow card ( and a bunker).

It was therefore the veteran (37 years old) Deon Fourie, responsible for playing cover in the South African forward pack and who now plays more often in the third line, who replaced him at short notice.
