Bilal Coulibaly Shines in Pre-Season Match Against Brandon Miller: Impressive Performance from Wizards Rookie

Opposed to Brandon Miller, number 2 in the 2023 Draft, Bilal Coulibaly did not look down. The Frenchman did even better: he finished the match with 12 points, a better total than his direct opponent. For the Wizards rookie, the pre-season is going wonderfully.

This was the subject of our night from Tuesday to Wednesday: Bilal Coulibaly in good shape, Brandon Miller in semi-flop. And this night, a clash between the two youngsters to have a sort of standard value – up to the intensity of the pre-season, don’t mess around either – between the two profiles. If Brandon Miller offered a slightly better game than that of midweek, it was not particularly more brilliant than for his first. 9 points at 4/8 shooting, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block and 1 interception. Friendly but, once again, too shy to impress like his friends at the top of the 2023 Draft, Scoot Henderson and Victor Wembanyama.

12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks for Bilal Coulibaly. All the people talking about the competition last game well here he is against a real NBA team. pic.twitter.com/vullVPkV31

For Bilal Coulibaly, the meeting went better. 12 points at 5/9 shooting, 5 rebounds and above all 4 interceptions. We also note his 2/3 at 3-points, it shoots rather cleanly when the shot is open. However, it is obviously his defensive abilities which are once again highlighted: wingspan, mobility: it pays off to put the attackers in trouble to recover balls. So yes, it’s not yet official-official NBA, but the enthusiasm can be great among the Wizards because they have got their hands on one of the best defenders of the vintage – at the time of writing these lines – which has enormous room for improvement. If the last match pitted Washington against a lower level Australian team, Bilal confirms this time against another NBA team. Enough to silence the skeptics while boosting his confidence. A winning operation that invites us to perpetually want more.

Coulibaly’s next match will take place next Thursday at 1:30 a.m., against the Knicks.
