Bengals Suffer Devastating Loss to Titans, Burrow Struggles

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – Joe Burrow is no longer a shadow of his former self and the Cincinnati Bengals are suffering greatly as a result. Unable to buy a single touchdown, the Bengals suffered a crushing 27-3 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday afternoon.

Cincinnati thus remains at the bottom of the hole that the team has been digging into weekly since the start of the campaign. The Bengals now have a record of one loss against three losses this season and the team is in last place in its division.

This is the team’s worst start to the season since 2019, when Cincinnati started the campaign with 11 straight losses.

For the second time in four outings this season, the Bengals were unable to provide a touchdown. Cincinnati will have to act quickly if the team wants to turn things around and Burrow will have to improve his performance.

Sunday, the quarterback completed 20 of his 30 passes for gains of just 165 yards. This is already the second time this season that Burrow has been limited to less than 200 yards of aerial gains.

In addition to facing numerous problems on the field, the Bengals lost the services of receiver Tee Higgin to a rib injury.

In the Titans camp, who obtained their second victory of the season, Derrick Henry was an important element in the team’s success. Henry rushed for 122 yards and scored a touchdown, as well as being the center of some fantasy with a touchdown pass.

Henry also became the seventh player in NFL history to have at least 80 rushing touchdowns and 8,000 rushing yards.

The Titans struck first in the second quarter, when Ryan Tannehill found Nick Westbrook-Ikhine with a 13-yard scoring pass. Tennessee then took a 10-3 lead.

The Derrick Henry show then took place before the end of the half. Henry first increased the Titans’ lead with a 29-yard touchdown run to make it 17-3.

Henry then took over as quarterback for one play, with less than 15 seconds left in the second quarter. In possession of the ball, Henry took advantage of the Bengals’ faulty coverage to release a short two-yard pass to Josh Whyle, left alone in the end zone.

The Bengals will look to turn the tide next week with a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The Titans will try to achieve a second success in a row, as they face the Indianapolis Colts.

Jefferson se charge des Panthers

Receiver Justin Jefferson continued his strong start to the season with two touchdowns to lead the Minnesota Vikings to a 21-13 triumph over the Carolina Panthers.

This triumph allows the Vikings to sign their first victory of the season, while the Panthers are still looking for a first victory after four duels.

Limited to one touchdown so far this season, Jefferson has been targeted by Kirk Cousins twice for the major. With his haul of 85 yards on six receptions, he became the first receiver in the NFL to cross the 500 receiving yard plateau this season.

After passing the 300-yard mark in each of his first three games this season, Cousins had a quieter day on Sunday, completing just 12 passes for 139 yards. He was also the victim of two interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown.

It was also on this interception that the Panthers opened the scoring. Sam Franklin Jr. caught Cousins’ throw and returned the ball 99 yards to give the Panthers the lead.

Jefferson then scored his first touchdown of the game in the second quarter, between two Carolina field goals.

Then, the Vikings defense helped out in the third quarter. Harrison Smith first created a fumble, before DJ Wonnum recovered the ball and returned it 51 yards for the major.

Jefferson then put the Vikings ahead by eight points later when he took a 30-yard pass from Cousins for his second touchdown of the game.

Jackson productive in the pay zone

Lamar Jackson scored two rushing touchdowns in addition to throwing two touchdown passes to Mark Andrews and the Baltimore Ravens had the better 28-3 against the Cleveland Browns.

With this third success this season, the Ravens (3-1) climb alone to the top of the AFC North division ahead of the Browns (2-2) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2).

Jackson took it upon himself to put the points on the board early in the match. After scoring his first touchdown in the first quarter on a 10-yard run, Jackson came back in the second quarter with another rushing touchdown to increase the Ravens’ lead to 14-3.

Jackson then made good use of his tight end Mark Andrews for the rest of the game. He connected for touchdowns twice, including once in the fourth quarter with an 18-yard pass.

Jackson finished the game with 15 of his 19 pass attempts completed for gains of 189 yards. Andrews had five receptions for 80 yards.

For the Browns, Dorian Thompson-Robinson replaced Deshaun Watson at quarterback as Watson is dealing with a shoulder injury. Thompson-Robinson completed only 19 passes for 121 yards and was the victim of three interceptions.

The Ravens will play another matchup against a division rival next week, against the Steelers.
