BC Boncourt Embraces Youth Power in Return to 3rd Division

Youth takes power in the ranks of BC Boncourt. Four months after the announcement of the withdrawal of its first team from the Swiss basketball elite, the Ajoulot club returned to the 3rd division. He begins his 1st league championship on Sunday in the Cauldron against the Ticino Wild Ducks of Lugano at 2:30 p.m. Under the leadership of Nemanja Calasan, the Red Team will have only one watchword this season in the East group: progression. “Every day and every month, young people must progress. We will see little by little in which direction we can go,” says the BCB coach. The former player will be able to count on a rich squad. He has 18 players under his command, even if some will play with the U18s. This contingent is very young. Only 3 items are 20 years old or older.

Nemanja Calasan refuses to reveal the objective set inside the locker room. But we easily understand that the club is not aiming for promotion at all costs this season. As for the game plan of the former captain of BC Boncourt, it can almost be summed up in one word: aggressiveness. “Basketball is changing. It’s a sport that’s getting faster and more aggressive. I want my young people to play modern, fast and very athletic basketball,” explains the 37-year-old technician. /msc
