Bayern Munich Defeats Galatasaray in Group A Clash

With Bayern Munich and Galatasaray, numbers 1 and 2 from group A faced each other.

For Bayern it seemed to be one of those many carefree European evenings after Kingsley Coman’s quick goal. Before tonight, it had already won 15 times in a row in the group stage and had not lost 35 times in a row.

But when Mauro Icardi made it 1-1 with a Panenka penalty and the Turks became increasingly stronger, a high-profile defeat seemed to be a reality.

Just before the hour, Dries Mertens was also pumped into the attacking compartment, although he would go down together with his teammates in the final phase.

Because the until then virtually invisible Harry Kane only needed half a chance to score. His skillful heel was blocked, but the Englishman reacted quickly to the rebound.

Not much later, Jamal Musiala also received the hugs, but at Galatasaray they gradually gave up. If Bayern also wins the second leg in Munich, they will be assured of qualification for the 1/8th finals after 4 matches.
