Bayern boss Jan-Christian Dreesen (56) was on the program “The Situation of the League” on Sunday. And in a conversation with presenter Valentina Maceri and BILD experts Walter M. Straten and Alfred Draxler, he made people sit up and take notice with exciting statements about a possible Bayern coach of the future.

Stuttgart and super striker Serhou Guirassy (27) are currently shaking up the league and are even at the top of the table until Sunday’s Bundesliga games. Trainer of success: Sebastian Hoeneß (41), the son of Dieter Hoeneß (70).

When asked whether Hoeneß could one day become Bayern coach, Dreesen said: “That belongs in the category of true or nonsense. But in the long term you can never rule out something like this. We are monitoring his development; there are still relationships with FC Bayern, and not just from a family perspective. We’ll see what the future brings. Maybe sometime.”

Hoeneß took over Stuttgart at the beginning of April, saved the Swabians from relegation in the two relegation games against HSV last season and has now surprisingly led the team to the top of the table in the still young season.

But a short-term commitment in Munich is not an option. Coach Thomas Tuchel (50) has been on the sidelines at Bayern since March and has a contract with the German record champions until the summer of 2025.

But Bayern definitely have Sebastian Hoeneß on their radar for the future…

Dreesen also spoke about…

… the competition in the Bundesliga: “We don’t actually fear anyone. But VfB Stuttgart put in a fantastic performance with Heoneß. Guirassy does it wonderfully. If my name were Stuttgart, I would enjoy the moment. Of course we have to take our competitors Dortmund, Leipzig and Leverkusen very seriously.

… Jérôme Boateng: “I’ve been reading a lot in the last few days. We had significant problems with central defense after the Bochum game and before the Münster game. Then came the famous creativity of Thomas Tuchel. For us, Jérôme Boateng was an alternative from a sporting perspective. Of course, we also saw that things didn’t really work out at Lyon. That’s why we invited him to train with us. Just to see if there is such an option. We spoke openly with him. We made a different decision at the end of the week – and not just from a sporting perspective. In the overall context, we decided together with Boateng to speak out against a commitment. I’m sure we made the right decision.”

… a new contract for Thomas Müller: “I don’t know if he wants to play until 67. We don’t feel any pressure. We have seen how important Thomas is for the team. Then we’ll see what comes. We have good reason to hopefully have Thomas with us for a long time to come.”

… a new sports director: “In that case, I’m the wrong person to contact. Here you would have to invite Herbert Hainer. The CEO is involved and nothing like this has happened so far. I can’t say anything more about it.”

… a possible transfer of João Palhinha in the winter: “The situation we had last summer was bad. The transfer window opens on January 1st, so it’s too early to speculate on names. But we certainly won’t act at the last minute.”

… the Super League: “For me, the Super League is dead. I say that so drastically to draw a line in the sand. The thing is so dead, you can’t be deader.”
