ANOTHER NINTH GRADE FOR THE FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD
Andrea Chelleris repeated Sanjski Par extension (9a) and Mišja Peč.
There’s no excuse: Andrea Chelleris wants a CV from top climber as quickly as possible. After climbing the first 8c+/9a in Arco, the young talent won vie fino al 9a+. Compared to his peers, who aim for one sensational achievement per year, Chelleris proves to be more solid, stringing together a series of climbs on the ninth grade that would frighten even an adult. Having little time to travel, Andrea tends to dedicate himself to projects close to home, frequenting severe crags such as Mishja Pec.
Following the ascent of Halupca 1979, a masterpiece of resistance, Andrea returned to an old project. The shot in question began to receive the first attention last winter: Sanjski Par extension. At the time, however, i very violent movements they didn’t perfectly fit Andrea’s style, and he had to increase his training to improve that specific skill. After one brilliant racing seasonwith the first good placings at an international level, Andrea returned to his project and immediately noticed the difference between last November and the current month.
The excellent form allowed Chelleris to establish himself on the famous graded route 9a despite the bad conditions that infest the cliffs in this anomalous October. With the arrival of winter, Andrea’s attention will now shift to skiing, an activity that sees him at the top in Italy in the special slalom discipline. As for climbing, he could take advantage of the excellent physical shape and experience gained in this competition season for some onsight climbing.
