ASVEL’s first opponent after TJ Parker, the Chorale de Roanne will however not appear in the best mood at the Astroballe this Sunday afternoon (at 2:30 p.m.). Hit in the knee, Kadri Moendadze is still absent, while Antoine Diot, victim of a hamstring strain, and Cyril Langevine are very doubtful for the derby.

Very sluggish at the start of the season (2v-5d, inglorious exit from the Coupe de France on Tuesday by Saint-Chamond), the Loire team is paying the price in particular for the new rupture of Maxime Roos’ Achilles tendon, expected as one of the leaders of Jean-Denys Choulet’s training. Two months later, the former JL Bourg winger has still not been effectively replaced, except by the disappointing EJ Anosike, and the Franche-Comté technician is still prospecting on the transfer market. “With the president, we will do what we have to do. I have been looking to strengthen the domestic sector for a month and a half, there is zero on the market”he explained to Progress.

As could be expected, Jean-Denys Choulet called on Henri Drell, already Maxime Roos’ freelancer at the very end of last season (10 points at 43%, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists) but the Estonian reserves his response after being cut by the Chicago Bulls, certainly preferring to try his luck in the G-League. “He’s interested, but we don’t have an answer. He needs to return to the G-League to collect money from this summer’s NBA camps. We made him a very good offer, as did Amine Noua. » An even more improbable path, since the French international remains under contract with Hapoel Holon, even if he has not been in Israel for two weeks, and will certainly hope to play in a European Cup if he were to find himself free.
