ANALYSIS – The leaders of the South will aim for a fourth title on Saturday, in the World Cup final, to make history.

Failed again. The Northern Hemisphere returned to its dear studies. After England’s title in 2003, many dreamed of a second coronation for a team from the North at this tenth World Cup. The awakening was brutal. In the toughest part of the table of the competition, France and Ireland stumbled, in the quarters, respectively against South Africa (29-28) and New Zealand (28-24), who, as regulars in world competitions, finally reached the final of this edition. For a major clash between the two best teams in the Southern Hemisphere, three crowns each on the prize list (i.e. two thirds of all those distributed), who will try, Saturday (9 p.m.) at the Stade de France, to move into the fourth dimension.

For a distant remake of the 1995 final when the All Blacks, victims of food poisoning before the match, fell against the Boks (15-12 AD) who were competing after the dark years of apartheid…
