Algeposa expands its space in the Port of Pasajes |

The stevedoring company Algeposa has expanded its area in the Port of Pasajes (Spain), increasing its space by 3,895 m2 at the Lezo Dock. With this expansion, it now has a total of 16,492 m2 for its operations in the port.

The decision to extend the concession was approved during the last meeting of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority. The main objective of this expansion is to facilitate the operations of Algeposa ships and, as a result, increase the volume of traffic in the port.

It is expected that, with the new additional surface, Algeposa will be able to move a minimum of 330,000 tons of cargo per year in this concession. This expansion reflects Algeposa’s long-term commitment to the port and the need to have warehouse areas in Lezo-1 to handle vessels that previously could not dock in the Lezo-2 area.

It is important to highlight that Algeposa’s Lezo-2 concession, which covers loading, unloading and warehousing operations, dates back to 2011 and will be available to the company until 2041. In addition to this extension, Algeposa already occupies 7,750 m2 in zone VI of the Buenavista dock, 2,603 m2 in the 6-BIS warehouse, and it has a 440 m2 space in Lezo for a truck scale.

In 2022, Algeposa moved a total of 1,298,985 tons of cargo in the port of Pasajes, playing an important role in the revitalization of the port thanks to the traffic of products such as coils, steel sheets and wood.

On the other hand, it is worth mentioning that the contracting table of the Pasajes Port Authority has awarded the work of drafting the project to increase the draft of the Buenavista dock to the company Ingeniería Especializada Obra Civil e Industrial (Acciona) for an amount of 193,666 euros. .
