Accused of Covering Up Fagioli’s Illegal Gambling Case, Juventus Opens Up

Jakarta

Nicolo Fagioli is said to be involved in an illegal gambling case. This prompted Juventus to issue a statement.

Fabrizio Corona was the first to report that Fagioli had a problem with gambling. This matter is already under investigation, which so far also links Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo.

Corona also said that Juventus was aware of the situation and was trying to cover up the players’ gambling problems. Not accepting this accusation, the Bianconeri made a release.

“Regarding what was reported by several media, Juventus FC stated that when they learned of the news about the possible involvement of player Nicolo Fagioli in a betting matter, they immediately contacted the FIGC Federal Prosecutor’s Office.”

La Repubblica several days ago reported that at least a dozen Serie A players were suspected of being involved. This is a serious violation because it is regulated in article 24 of the FIGC sporting justice code.

Players found guilty can be banned from playing football for three years. The penalty could be reduced if the perpetrator collaborates proactively or immediately admits his mistake.
