The 2030 World Cup is scheduled to take place in Africa, Europe and South America. How is the plan being received there? A look at the six countries where the game will be played – and what could come afterwards.

On Wednesday, the world football association FIFA and its president Gianni Infantino found a FIFA solution to a FIFA problem. Two candidate alliances were formed and positioned among the member associations to host the 2030 World Cup. On the one hand: Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay – the country in which the first World Cup was held in 1930. On the other hand: Morocco, Portugal and Spain.

And because FIFA and its president apparently did not want either one or the other to position themselves for hosting the 2034 World Cup in the event of a cancellation – more on that later – they found this solution to this problem: One World Cup, three Continents, six countries.
